Extensive Accommodation Network Supports Medical Students and ResidentsBack to List | Print this Page

To support the mandatory rural rotations that medical students and residents do in rural Alberta, The Alberta Rural Physician Action Plan (RPAP) leases family-friendly accommodations in rural teaching sites. Currently it has more than 42 leased accommodations across the province. For example, in Grande Prairie there are four different leases and in Westlock there are three leases complemented by two room and board situations.  RPAP endeavours to make the rural rotations a positive experience for the medical students, residents and their families by providing good quality, "home away from home" accommodation. All homes are fully furnished and equipped.
